“Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world...would do this, it would change the earth.”

ABOUT THE BLOG (AND ME)

I named this project Tribunus Plebis because I believe we must stand up to power and fight against what I view as a burgeoning plutocracy. The Tribune of the People spoke for the plebeians, the commoner class, and was instrumental in checking the power of the wealthy patricians who formed the Senate of the Roman Republic.

We the People, the masses who reside in immense swath between destitute and middle class, have lost our ability to act as a check on the power of those who wield the clout and knowledge to enact laws and fundamentally effect how we live our lives.

I believe we must speak truth to power every time, without fail. That we must dig our heels in and resist where we must.

Our power lies in our numbers and ability to unify. I support organized labor, universal healthcare, prison reform, recreational drug legalization, political term limits, and removing money from politics as much as is humanly possible among other things. I subscribe to no political ideology as a whole.

I also feel that I, and we, can fight for these things in a civilized manner. I promise I do my best to not directly insult any individual or group of people and only criticize ideas I think are lacking.

In real life I am happily married to a beautiful, amazing wife, and we are the proud parents of two greyhounds (who are as sweet as honey) and a cat (who is a jerk). To earn a living I drive a tractor trailer truck around New England during the week. I spend all my extra money on the important things in life: meat products, whisky, and cigars.
